The Fire Services Department’s emergency vehicle driving simulator uses cutting-edge mixed reality technology that allows firefighters to experience the challenges of driving a fire truck in emergency mode using a real fire truck cockpit in a variety of real-world scenarios. An authentic fire truck cockpit is incorporated into the simulator, together with a panoramic CAVE system that creates a 240-degree view of the surroundings. Firefighters can also use the simulator to practice driving in different weather conditions and at night, and automatically generate training reports after the training is completed. The simulator is an invaluable tool for training firefighters, and it has helped to improve the experience of firefighters and the safety of the public.
